For over a decade, John Crye was the creative director of Newmarket Films, leading the development, acquisition, production, or distribution of such independent classics as "Memento, "Donnie Darko", "Whale Rider," "Monster," "Downfall", and "The Prestige." As a founding member of the filmmakers' collective, Fewdio, Crye produced the "Nightmare House" web series, which continues to build a cult following on-line and at festivals worldwide, as well as writing and directing several episodes. In 2010, Crye helped launch Wrekin Hill Entertainment, with whom he acquired and released such films as Peter Weir's "The Way Back" and "Hesher" starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt. In 2011, Crye joined former Fewdio compatriot, Todd Sharp in launching SharpCrye, a production company creating fantastic branded content on indie budgets.
